The film, directed by P. Vasu and starring Tamil superstar Rajnikant, Jyothika and Prabhu, is a remake of Malayalam film "Manichitratazhu". The 1993 film, directed by Fazils and starring Mohan Lal, Shobhna and Suresh Puri under the banner of "Swarg Chitra", pocketed three National Awards - best film, best actor and best actress. The film did good business at the box-office. In 2004, the subject was taken up by Kannada filmmakers and made into "Aaptha Mitra".

Expressing solidarity with Kushboo and Sania Mirza, former Miss World and Bollywood actress Yukta Mookhey today said people should take the statement of the south Indian actress and the tennis star on the issue of safe sex in a positive manner. "The statement of Kushboo and Sania Mirza should be taken in a positive manner and people must understand their reasoning on the issue of safe sex as a precaution against HIV/AIDS," Mookhey told reporters after inaugurating the Mini Bombay Film Acting Institute here.

Word has just come in that she has signed up for Priyadarshans Chandramukhi opposite Akshay Kumar. Chandramukhi will be a remake of the Tamil super-hit Rajnikanth-Jyotika starrer of the same name. Bhushan Kumar of T-Series will produce the Hindi version.

Yukta plays a naval officers wife in the psychological thriller, which has been produced by Sahara Motion Pictures with Mink-Punnu Brar Productions.

After essaying the holier-than-thou roles in "Saarthi" and "Shararat", television actress Aditi Shirwaikar is now showcasing her talent by playing the bad girl. Shirwaikar has been cast as Chandramukhi, the youngest of the three evil sisters, in Zee TVs "Dulhan".

Ameesha Patel has been signed for the Priyadarshans next film Chandramukhi being produced by T-Series. She will be paired opposite Akshay Kumar in the film. This is the first time she will be working Priyadarshan. The film also stars Shiney Ahuja and Vidya Balan.
