Twenty-three years after Richard Attenboroughs 1982 film, Gandhi, a rash of films, some of which have already been released, promise to bring back the fading images of the Mahatma in technicolour. Ketan Ranga lists the films Maine Gandhi Ko Nahin Mara: The film is directed by a nine-time National Award winner Jahnu Barua and stars Anupam Kher, Urmila Matondkar, Boman Irani, Parvin Dabbas, Vishwaas Pandya, Prem Chopra and Waheeda Rehman. While no one plays Gandhi, the story is based on a retired professor who loses his memory and feels hes killed the Mahatma. Kher is producing the movie and is essaying the role of the retired professor. The film will be released on September 30.

Urmila Matondkar and Ameesha Patel will soon do India proud. The duo has been specially invited by Verve magazine to Paris for the launch of Louis Vuittons largest boutique on October 9.

The film focusses mainly on his relationship with his daughter Trisha Urmila Matondkar. Chowdhary is losing his memory and suffers from dementia. He starts believing that he is responsible for Gandhis death. At the core, this is a simple story of a mans illness and his daughters love, compassion and understanding. Its about her complete commitment to her father as she makes personal and professional sacrifices to allow her him to lead a dignified life.
