New Delhi, Aug 28 : With Indias first film featuring real life characters interacting with animated ones going on the marquees, the bourgeoning animation industry seems to be waking up to the potential of the domestic box-office long after it earned a name for itself overseas.The Indian box-office got its first full-length animation feature film on Friday with the release of "Bhaggmati - the Queen of Fortunes".Indian-made animated television programmes screening internationally include hits like "Piggley Winks", "Jack Frost", "Ali Baba", "Clootie and Dumpling", "The Three Amigoes", "Cyber Dodo" and "FrogSkool" with newer ones being added. Touted as Bollywoods answer to Hollywoods 1988 "Who Framed Roger Rabbit", the film has got critics approval for its world-class animation though its story disappoints. The Zee Telefilms production that cost $5 million is based on a love story involving the Mughal-era ruler of southern Hyderabad city, Prince Qutab Quli Shah, and local dancer Bhaggmati, and has Tabu and Milind Soman in the lead.

Zee Telefilms’s Bhaggmati – The Queen of Fortunes written and directed by Ashok Kaul was premiered at Fame Adlabs on the 25th of August 2005. The film is the first ever live-animation feature film made in India, by the Indians, for the World. The pioneering movie that releases on August 26, 2005 nationwide has animated and live characters in the main lead. Jodhpur, Feb 20 : Bollywood stars Salman Khan, Saif Ali Khan, Tabu, Neelam and Sonali Bendre Monday failed to appear in a court here that is hearing a case related to the alleged poaching of two endangered blackbuck deer by them in 1998.

Mumbai, Feb 25 : If everything goes according to plan, Nimbus Communications "Sarhad Paar" starring Sanjay Dutt and Tabu will be the first major film to be released simultaneously in 500 theatres all over India through a huge digital network. According to Vivek Vaswani, group advisor, Nimbus Motion Pictures, the release of the film has been postponed to May to facilitate a simultaneous digital release all over India, reports Bollywood Trade.
