"Producers see no attraction in coming to Uttar Pradesh for making a film," bureaucrat-turned-producer K.D. Shorie told IANS on telephone from Mumbai. "The council has been indifferent towards the needs of filmmakers."Having been a member of the council when Shatrughan Sinha was its chairman until 2003, Shorie claimed: "We cleared and funded 44 films that were shot in Uttar Pradesh during that period."

New Delhi, May 10 : After "Dus", Anubhav Sinha returns this Friday with "Tathastu", a compelling drama about a helpless father whose son is facing a life-and-death crisis.

While Sandeep Chowta has gone full throttle to promote his lively-n-mischievous single Mallika I Hate You that comes in various versions, composer duo of Vishal-Shekhar have now come up with a thoughtful qawalli track for this weeks release Tathastu - So Be It that comes from the Dus team of producer Nitin Manmohan, director Anubhav Sinha and lead actor Sanjay Dutt. Completely different in terms of look, feel and mood of Dus, Tathastu starring Ameesha Patel in the female lead is an emotional drama about a father who wants justice for his dying son. Since the subject of the film is such that it doesnt really warrant an item song or a romantic number, Tathastu is a near songless film with only one qawalli that is primarily situational. Rest of the album is a compilation of other popular qawallis composed during the last decade.

This Fridays release Tathastu is inspired from the Hollywood movie John Q that starred Denzel Washington. In Tathastu, Sanjay Dutt plays a father who takes law into his hands in order to save his ailing sons life.“There is nothing more deadly than a father pushed too far…” says the punchline of Tathastu, directed by Anubhav Sinha , the man who made Dus .

The Bollywood star, popularly known as Bihari Babu, said he had come with a similar proposal 15 years back when the State was under the rule of RJD, but it never got approved. "Since, the new Government under Nitish Kumar is inviting investment from outside for bringing a turnaround in the states economy, I have put forward the proposals once again," he said. Categorically stating that he was not seeking any personal favour, Sinha, who was recently appointed BJPs cultural cell president, said, "I have mentioned in my letter to Modi that the projects shall be considered on merit alone." "I am the last person to seek a personal favour from anybody, be it NDA, of which I am a member... Like any a b c, I have also come with investment proposals, which I wish will be treated on merit," he added.
