Mumbai, Nov 15 : Actor Nana Patekar is upbeat about his new film "Apaharan." In the Prakash Jha directed movie, Nana Patekar plays a politician who is convinced that whatever he does, right or wrong, is a divine order.As the title suggests, this film is about kidnapping for ransom, which Patekar feels has now become an "official business". Working with Jha, from a start-to-finish schedule for about 14 months, Patekar says he was constantly thinking about the character, according to Bollywood Trade. "I tend to live the character I play during the making of a film. It even influences my mannerisms during that period."Else, it becomes difficult to sustain the character. That is why I always do one film at a time," says Patekar.

Apaharan is a hard-hitting tale of a youth who gradually gets lured into the world of crime. The movie, an exposé of the kidnapping industry in Bihar, is gritty but too grim a tale to digest.Directed by Prakash Jha and starring Ajay Devgan , Nana Patekar and Bipasha Basu , Apaharan attempts to recreate on celluloid the entire kidnapping machinery with all its nuts and bolts, the politicians and corrupt cops, the goons and the middlemen, et al. And caught in this scrum is the common man, who either toes the non-rewarding path of honesty or takes the easy route into the whirlpool of crime.

You know its all a masterly make-believe. But the packaging and presentation are so intriguing, the efforts to take Hindi cinema away from the rhythms of a routine narration are so pronounced, you smile at the sheer novelty of this satirical stress-buster. "Bluffmaster" is cinema without punctuation marks. You cannot but marvel at second-time director Rohan Sippys command over the language of cockiness.

Dont expect a laugh riot from Rohan Sippys movie Bluffmaster . However, the film does entertain.The movie stars Abhishek Bachchan , Ritesh Deshmukh , Priyanka Chopra , Nana Patekar and Boman Irani .

Mumbai, Dec 19 : Nana Patekar is all set to wield the megaphone for Prakash Jhas next project and says he is very happy with the way the director handled "Apaharan" that deals with Bihars kidnapping industry."Picture achi bani hai Its a well made film. He has chosen a very hard-hitting subject and not tried to over-commercialise it. Apaharan remains true to its subject. Its a film with a conscience," Nana told IANS. "My character in Apaharan was modelled on a real-life politician. But I didnt study the real character. I played it the way the director envisaged it," said the talented actor.

Abhishek Bachchan was adjudged the Best Actor in comic role, while Nana Patekar was named the Best Actor in a negative role at the glittering ceremony of 12th annual Screen Awards on Wednesday in Mumbai.The star-studded show, held at the NSE Grounds in Goregaon, saw on-stage performances by Rani Mukherjee , Bipasha Basu , Akshay Kumar , Shilpa Shetty and Zayed Khan .
